Dear Sir/Madam, With your support, the F.R.C.Q. invites a new group of 70 disadvantaged children, aged from 10 to 12, to partake in this year’s Snow Festival. We offer them a three-day adventure to discover Camp Papillon (210 Papillon, St-Alphonse-Rodriguez), a rustic site located on 40 acres surrounding Lac Pierre:
As we prepare ourselves to get through another winter, children, on the other hand, impatiently await the next snowfall. They are wishing for snow banks as high as the sky so they may build snowmen just as tall. A lucky few will even escape to the countryside to see the vast white landscapes and take part in winter activities. Unfortunately, this situation is quite often reserved for wealthy children. Without the financial resources to afford neither expensive winter sports, nor the appropriate gear to fully enjoy the snow, underprivileged children must settle for staying indoors. To prove to these children that they have the right to enjoy the small pleasures in life as much as anyone else, the Family Resources Center of Quebec (F.R.C.Q.) is organizing its 16th Snow Festival. Each day, the children will feast on three delicious meals and generous snacks to renew their energy before heading back out for fresh air. Their getaway will be packed with exciting activities, which many kids will experience for the first time, such as tube sliding, skating, tobogganing, curling, building snow fortresses, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, preparing campfires in the snow, winter camping, challenge courses, and identifying animal trails. Seeing as most of them do not have appropriate clothing for the cold weather, they will each receive a hat, a scarf, mittens, and winter boots upon their arrival, to fully benefit from the planned activities. When the first evening comes around, the F.R.C.Q. will give them a sleeping bag, a flashlight and a first aid kit. Throughout the festival, the children will also receive surprises, gifts and candy, sponsored by our generous partners. Without you, the F.R.C.Q. would be unable to offer such a superb activity to this group of impoverished children. The Snow Festival truly allows them to celebrate the winter season in all its glory, and to live unforgettable moments they would never have experienced otherwise. Your contribution is essential to keep this magnificent tradition alive. Now more than ever, they need us all to guide them toward a better tomorrow. Thanks to our collective effort to help them, they will now have childhood memories to treasure forever. This great outdoor getaway is a wonderfully unexpected gift for them. Thank you! HELP US BUILD A BETTER FUTURE FOR OUR CHILDREN! You can help us: |
