Welcome to the website of the Family Resources Center of Quebec (F.R.C.Q.), a registered charity founded to come to the aid of children, adolescents, parents, grandparents and any other individual experiencing family problems, often due to a family break up or other family conflicts.

The F.R.C.Q. offers a wide variety of FREE services such as a confidential telephone help line, professional legal advice, a data bank containing over 2,000 community services and information sessions.

Ecological and Prevention Day 2009

Sponsor a recreational activity of the F.R.C.Q. and have a positive impact on the life of an underprivileged child.

Learning, while having fun, is crucial to the cognitive, physical and social growth of every human being during childhood, regardless of that person’s background. Children, who are raised in underprivileged districts of Montreal and Quebec, are forced to live in surroundings that do not answer their needs in terms of recreational activities and skills development. Hence, the F.R.C.Q. organizes - every year - an Ecological and Prevention Day so that 9 and 10 years old children growing up in poverty can escape the city and experience all the benefits of the great outdoors. The wide range of exciting activities in which they take part, allows them to increase their knowledge and creativity, as well as their self-confidence and trust in others.

Due to the precarious situation of their parents, besides the absence of essential resources on a daily basis, these underprivileged kids often undergo challenging situations that compel them to withdraw or to develop destructive habits that jeopardize their self-fulfillment. Taking into account the pressing needs of these young people, the F.R.C.Q. organizes an Ecological and Prevention Day that exposes them to the positive aspects of having a healthy lifestyle by coming into contact with nature and discovering the importance of protecting it.

Every year, 120 deprived 9 and 10 years old children of the Montreal and Quebec greater areas, participate in the Ecological and Prevention Day. Now, by sponsoring one or several children, you contribute directly to their well-being and to the improvement of their quality of life. As a result, they can join in games, hike through the forest, as well as pick wild mushrooms and so much more. Not to mention the fun surprises that they will receive during this memorable awe-inspiring day, emphasizing how valuable our environment is.
